Environmental Pollution Laboratory (EPL) is a South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) accredited laboratory, with branches in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Cape Town. The laboratory specialises in the analysis of organic pollutants in air, water and soil. We are committed to remaining at the forefront of scientific technology which enables us to consistently provide accurate, reliable and verifiable results. This is achieved using various instruments such as GC-MS, GC-FID and GC-MS/MS etc.

TESTING CAPABILITIES

PCB Analysis

EPL uses GC-MS/MS for the analysis of PCBs. This enables us filter unwanted interferences, add multiple identifiers, and provides increased sensitivity and selectivity in the presence of complex matrices.

TPH C10-C40

EPL offers an in-house TPH C10-C40 analysis using efficient extraction techniques for fast turnaround times. We can analyse water, soil and product samples and report numerous ranges to suit your site-specific needs.

Waste Act Sample Analysis

EPL can extract and analyze samples in accordance with the National Environmental Management Waste act (Act No 59 of 2008). All organic analysis is done in-house and some of the Inorganic analysis is outsourced. All Organic compounds are analysed in-house while inorganic analyses are outsourced to select partners.

Pesticide Analysis in Food & the Environment

EPL assists government regulators, policy makers, farmers, NGOs, developmental and environmental organisations, trade unions, consumers, journalists and the public to help solve pesticide problems, by offering a pesticide analysis service.

ABOUT OUR COMMITMENT TO QUALITY & ACCREDITATION

Trusted practices and procedures have been implemented throughout the company in alignment with global advancements and proven methodologies. As a SANAS accredited laboratory (number T0419) we adhere to a strict quality assurance system which is aligned with EN 45001, ISO/IEC 17025 criteria. Furthermore we deem it imperative to involve our laboratory in international proficiency testing schemes and thus participate in round robin verifications co-ordinated by CALA and Aqua-check. Utilising internationally validated calibration standards with external traceability ensures we provide accurate, high quality data on every analysis report issued by us. Additionally in accordance with local policy codes, we are a Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) certified business.
