EPL offers industrial and occupational health laboratory testing service for the identification and Evaluation of Chemical Agents. Our services help companies to provide a healthy and safe working environment for their employees, as required by the Occupational Health and Safety, as well as Mine Health and Safety Acts.
We can perform quantitative scans for Aldehydes, Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons, Aromatic VOCs, Solvents, BTEX, Metals and anions. We follow NIOSH, OSHA, ASTM and EPA methodologies as well as customer specified and our own methodologies when it come s to occupational health. Standard test methods used by the laboratory include:
Analysis of speciated volatile organic compounds in solid adsorbent media
Analysis of carbonyl compounds (e.g. formaldehyde) sampled with DNPH-coated media
Analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) collected using high or low volume polyurethane foam and XAD resin (PUF/XAD)
Analysis of organochlorine pesticides, PCB arochlors, and/or other semi-volatile compounds collected using high volume and low volume polyurethane foam (PUF) or PUF/XAD traps and modified Method 5 sampling trains
We also offer analysis of Radiello® passive diffusive air samplers. Used in Europe for over 10 years, passive diffusive samplers are now gaining worldwide attention for many air sampling applications. Passive diffusive air sampling can yield qualitative and/or quantitative information for many individual compounds (e.g. hydrogen sulfide) and chemical classes (e.g. volatile organic compounds). Sampling with passive diffusive devices such as Radiello® yields several benefits — no sampling pump is required, it is discreet, and it can achieve low reporting limits. With careful advance planning and discussion with laboratory staff, passive samplers can be used to meet data quality objectives.
VOCs or BTEX chemically desorbed with CS2
Nitrogen and Sulfur dioxides (NO2 and SO2)
Hydrogen sulphide (H2S)
